3 Songs You Should Be Listening To (10-12-09)

The Dead Weather – “Treat Me Like Your Mother”

When will we learn that just about everything Jack White touches is golden? He’s like the King Midas of rock. Anybody else excited for “It Might Get Loud”?

Brendan Benson – “A Whole Lot Better”

Like White, Benson was a member of The Raconteurs, but this cut from his fourth solo album, “My Old, Familiar Friend,” isn’t quite as experimental as his work with those guys. This is just simple, easy rock that you’ve gotta love. Not that we’re forcing you to  love it, just suggesting it strongly.  At least like it as a friend.

Tinchy Stryder f. Amelle – “Never Leave You”

This particularly sweet pop juke is, as they say, big in Europe. It’s plastered all over the tops of their pop charts and the catchiness of the hook will very quickly show you why. Don’t listen to this song in hopes of deep lyrics, though; Tinchy ain’t dropping knowledge. But damn if it isn’t beguiling.
